The NURIT 8000S terminal is a compact and flexible wireless terminal. Weighing in at just 1.4 pounds, including the paper roll and battery pack, the NURIT 8000S terminal is the smallest full-featured, hand-held terminal available today. A backlit keyboard and large graphical backlit display are easy to read in the dark, and the intuitive touch screen interface makes learning and operating the terminal easy. It incorporates a secure internal PIN pad and privacy shield, along with a fast, quiet thermal printer and a high-speed external modem for dial back-up.
The terminal meets the demanding Visa PIN Entry Device (PED) and MasterCard security requirements and is tamper-resistant, tamper-evident and tamper-responsive.

The FDMS GPRS Solution provides several unique
advantages in the marketplace:
- The APRIVATM Gateway and advanced protocols provide more reliable transmission, data compression and added security
- A private network between the GPRS carrier (Cingular) and APRIVA ensures transactions are not routed over the public Internet, blocks unsolicited traffic and prevents denial of service attacks
NOTE: There are competitors using GPRS and running transactions over the open Internet. These transactions are not secure. In addition, because the transactions are not compressed, they use up to 4x the amount of data as the FDMS solution.
Redundant systems provide back-up capability in the event of network outages
